Different Forms of Bullying

Verbal bullying is defined as using vulgarities or mean words to hurt a person, teasing them, or calling them names that hurts.

Physical bullying is defined as being violent to a person or their personal belongings; hitting, punching, shoving, extorting, throwing of things or destroying of one’s property/ belongings.

Relational bullying is defined as causing hurt to a person by spreading rumors, asking others not to befriend him or her, social exclusion/ isolation, damaging one’s reputation or relationships with others.

Cyber bullying is defined as a phenomenon where harm is intentionally inflicted upon one or more victims repeatedly through the use of computers, mobile phones or other electronic devices (Agatston, 2008; Hinduja & Patchin, 2006; Hinduja & Patchin, 2009; Kowalski, Limber & Agatston, 2008; National Crime Prevention Council, n.d.).
